The 2nd International Conference on Applied Sciences (ICAS 2026)
The Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya, successfully hosted the 2nd International Conference on Applied Sciences (ICAS 2026) on 15th October 2026 under the theme “Science for a Greener Planet.”
The conference brought together academics, researchers, scholars, and students to share innovative research findings, exchange scientific knowledge, and foster interdisciplinary and international research collaborations. The programme featured keynote addresses by Prof. Wolfgang Dittus and Prof. Uthayasanker Thayasivam, alongside research presentations and poster sessions across diverse fields of applied sciences.
The conference was led by Dr. A. E. S. Patrick, General Chair of ICAS 2026, Dr.M.Kayanan, Dean of the faculty, and Mrs.N.Akalya, Secretary whose leadership and coordination played a vital role in bringing the conference to fruition. Their contributions included overseeing the overall planning and implementation of the conference, coordinating the organizing committees and editorial teams, facilitating communication with keynote speakers, authors, reviewers, and institutional stakeholders, and supporting the preparation of the conference proceedings. His efforts in promoting academic collaboration, securing sponsorships, and coordinating the various organizational activities contributed significantly to the successful completion of the event.
ICAS 2026 reaffirmed the Faculty’s commitment to promoting scientific excellence, research innovation, environmental sustainability, and knowledge-driven regional and national development.
