Fourth Faculty Annual Research Session -FARS 2023

The fourth Faculty Annual Research Session (FARS 2023) of the Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya, Sri Lanka, was held on October 25, 2023, on the theme “Exploring Science Innovations for Global Well-being”. The FARS 2023 called for extended abstracts submissions on five tracks from academics and research scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students. Annual Student Research Congress (ASRC2023) has also been conducted as a part of FARS2023. Undergraduates from Sri Lankan universities are encouraged to contribute to ASRC2023 by submitting their research works in the form of abstracts and posters. Prof. Raman Sukumar (Professor, Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012, India) and Prof. M. Siyamalan (Professor, Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Jaffna) have participated as the keynote speakers in the FARS2023. Under FARS2023 there were 2 technical sessions, which were conducted through zoom and poster session, which was conducted physically.  Dr. T. Ketheesan, Faculty of Technology, University of Jaffna and Dr. K. Kannan, Faculty of Science, University of Jaffna were chaired the Technical session 1 and Dr. Dushan Kumarathunge, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna and Dr. G. Abhiram, Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture, Uwa Wellassa University were chaired Technical session 2.

Prof. T Mangaleswarn, Vice Chancellor, University of Vavuniya, participated as a Chief Guest also the Deans of the Faculties, Registrar, Bursar, Heads of the Departments, Directors of the Centers, Professors, Senior Academics, Academics, Excitative staffs, staff of the university and the final year students of the Faculty of Applied Science are taken part of this event.
