Signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the university of Vavuniya & the Blue Lotus 360 (Pvt) ltd
The first MoU was signed between the university of Vavuniya and Blue Lotus 360 on the 25th of August, 2022. Blue lotus 360 is a cloud-based SaaS company invested by Business Machines and John Keells Holdings PLC, one of the largest corporations in Sri Lanka. They focus on subscription-based cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Human Resource Management (HRM) solutions. The MoU facilitates creating new career opportunities for students, training programs and research collaboration. The Department of Physical Science arranged the MoU signing event under the AHEAD funding of the Faculty of Applied Science. The event started with traditional oil lamp lighting in the boardroom of the IT centre. Senior academics of three faculties, bursar and council members participated in the event. The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya – Dr T. Mangaleswaran, and the CEO of Blue Lotus 360 (Pvt) Ltd – Mr N. Uthayakumar. Students’ interactive session was arranged between the CEO and managers of Blue Lotus at the Smart lecture hall, Faculty of Applied Science. All the IT and computer science students actively participated in the session. The session was beneficial for students to ask questions about upcoming technology trends, job requirements, and recent challenges in the industry.
