MOU between Lanka Enterprises and Entrepreneurs Development Services and University of Vavuniya
Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between Lanka Enterprises and Entrepreneurs Development Services (LEEDS) and University of Vavuniya (UOV) was signed on 28th August 2026 to conduct short courses on the titles given below.
1. Practical Food Safety and Manufacturing Process Control
2. Food Safety and Good Hygiene Practices for Food Handlers
Department of Bio-Science
Department of Bioscience is responsible for all technical components, including curriculum and assessments, while the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE) oversees all administrative functions.
The collaboration seeks to enhance food safety standards, public health awareness, and hygienic food handling practices among food handlers by strengthening their knowledge, skills, and compliance with recommended hygiene and safety guidelines. Through these short courses, the partnership aims to build practical competencies, reduce foodborne health risks, improve employability and professionalism of food handlers, and contribute to safer food systems within the community initially in the Northern Province in alignment with national and international food safety standards.
