Site visit and seminar on Biogas Science and Technology
Followed by the initiation of the establishment of Biogas Research Unit at the Department of Bio-science, a site visit and a seminar were conducted for the staff and students of the Department of Bio-science, Faculty of Applied Science. The site visit took place on the 19th of December at the Faculty of Agriculture, where a model biogas plant was observed. The purpose of the site visit is to understand design, identify risks/issues, learn best practices, mitigate risks etc., for efficient plant construction.
The following day, on the 20th of December, a seminar on Biogas Science and Technology was organized at the Faculty of Applied Science. Eminent speakers from various state universities presented on different topics to cover the following objectives:
- To gain a basic understanding of biogas systems and their applications.
- To identify research and employment opportunities related to biogas systems.
- To encourage students and supervisors to undertake and supervise biogas-related research.
