Field visit to local tanks for Applied Ecology and Community Environmental Studies
On 28/May/2025, Level 2 students of the Department of Bio-Science participated in a field visit to Mamaduwa Tank, Vavuniya Tank, and Thandikulam Tank as part of their practical sessions for Applied Ecology and Community Environmental Studies.
The visit enabled students to closely observe healthy aquatic ecosystems, featuring clear waters, diverse aquatic vegetation, and thriving biodiversity. These observations emphasized the ecological value of natural water bodies and the need for their conservation.
The field visit was conducted under the guidance of the practical in-charge Dr. A.E.S. Patrick (Senior Lecturer, Department of Bio-Science).
