Nutritional assessment in preschool children
The Level 2 students at Dept. of Bio-Science have visited the preschool “Elanthaler” on 07th September 2018 at Sithamparapuram/Vavuniya for the Nutritional status assessment. They measured the height, weight mid-arm circumference, and head circumference of 47 children age 3-7 years old as part of the course module ASB2153 (Food and Nutrition). Midwife and school teachers assisted in taking the morphometrics of children. The preschool children were presented with food items (yogurt, apple) and stationaries (drawing book, chalk, colour color, pencil and eraser).
